Vengeful Threads – Lord of the Forest

with 7 comments

“The Lord of the Forest” costume is Vengeful Threads‘ tribute to the Celtic God, Cernunnos or Hern the Hunter. An ancient Pagan deity, Cernunnos is associated with the cycle and renewal of life. He’s also known as “The Seeder”, in that he is the one who plants the seed and secures the proliferation of life. The oldest depictions of Cernunnos show him with a radiating rack of antlers. That branching out is symbolic of the expanding rays of sunlight, an agricultural omen. In this way, the solar connotation is a blessing for nourishing light, a promise for abundance in agricultural growth and harvests. This is a very male energy (as the sun is associated with male force), and a very assertive essence. These solar-antlers are also symbolic of self-expression, and radiating the divine inner light outwardly.

The costume is as you see in the picture with all parts as set –  including flexi headdress and waist decoration which moves with the fluttering of leaves on branches when the wind blows through the forest. Vivid green system eyes, and skin tattoo mean there’s no need to look for a matching skin, it’s all there in the set. A snake adorns the arm, and system corset and pants mean that a lot of avatar shapes will be able to adapt this costume.  Fashioned legs with hooves complete the look and an alpha takes care of the avatar legs. Permissions are partial Modify/Transfer.

This costume is on offer for Sinful Sunday, it’s only 69 L$, so if you like it – visit the mainstore asap because next week, it’ll be back to its original price.

There’s a great gent’s bargain set currently on offer at Vengeful Threads but be quick, it’ll be back to full price in no time at all!

It’s the “Reaper’s Requiem – Rockers Edition” in Gold. You get a hooded T with matching pants plus gloves. All in standard sizing XS – XL with 3 alphas, 2 for the T with and without gloves plus the pants. So in effect you’ve got a couple of good separates there.

Of course, I had to try the Zen of Motorbiking on one of the shots! Here’s more of what it looks like.

Reapers Requiem – Vengeful Threads

with 2 comments

It’s another Sinful Sunday down at Vengeful Threads!  Special offers on both ladies and gents outfits. For us gents, it’s the “Reapers Requiem” outfit which comprises a fabulous open fronted shirt with artwork front and back plus a pair of matching jeans. There’s two designs in both shirt and jeans – silver skull pattern and gold skull pattern. The jeans are subtly textured to fit in with the silver and gold theme.

Standard sizing – XS to XL, I was wearing the L jeans and shirt. A couple of alphas are included, to fit smaller and larger sized chests. Because the main picture is so arty (and you can blame Anubis for that, he’s a great poser) here’s the designs a bit more plainly rendered. Beautiful textures, as always, and I wasn’t on Ultra, either!

Special offer runs just for today

Vengeful Threads - Eclipse Coat n Pants

This amazing coat, which could easily double up as one belonging to Neo,  is on special offer at Vengeful Threads for Sinful Sunday and it’s a mere L$69 for today only. Gothic in style, the patterning is outstanding.

The coat comes in standard sizing XS – XL, and I was wearing an L size. Also included in the pack is a pair of black pants to go underneath. It’s useful to choose a smaller size for these so nothing shows through that fabulous coat.  The pants are great, too, though and a useful wardrobe addition when worn with other garments. They also come in standard sizing XS – XL and I chose a size S here.

“Eclipse” in Noir is the name and hanging around graveyards is my game today.

Here’s your taxi to Vengeful Threads mainstore.

Do check out the other offers on this weekend while you’re there!

Other accoutrements in this picture include:

hair – no_match – No_Fate, Boots – Illi – Damon Boots, glasses – Meva – Punk sunglasses

I was on location at the wonderful Netherwood sim which is based on the Lake District, UK.

Vengeful Oni

Vengeful Threads_Oni Mask exclusive

Oni (鬼?) are a kind of yōkai from Japanese folklore, variously translated as demons, devils, ogres, or trolls. They are popular characters in Japanese art, literature and theatre. Depictions of oni vary widely but they are generally portrayed as hideous, gigantic ogre-like creatures with sharp claws, wild hair, and two long horns growing from their heads. They are humanoid for the most part, but occasionally, they are shown with unnatural features such as odd numbers of eyes or extra fingers and toes. Their skin may be any number of colours, but red and blue are particularly common.

I think that Vengeful Threads got the Oni Mask exactly right!  My depiction is of a more shapely oni *laughs* he’s obviously not been fed for a while and is standing around waiting for his next meal to come along. The mask is original mesh, made as an exclusive for The Darkness Chamber Fair.

Not only is this fabulous mask in gold but there’s also variations in silver, red, purple, green and blue. Permissions are Copy/Modify so you can get a good fit. All I did was to enlarge slightly and reposition.

Now you’ll have to hold your horses as the fair opens on August 6th and runs until August 27th, but until then why not have a look at their blog and check out all the designers who’ll be making goodies for this event.

I’m including a landmark to The Darkness Chamber Fair but please be aware that the event won’t open to the public until August 6th.

Cheers, m’dears 🙂

Beau Monstre – Vengeful Threads

Vengeful Threads_Beau Monstre

Vengeful Threads are taking part in Menswear Fashion Week 2016 with this fascinating outfit called, “Beau Monstre”.  As always with VT the difference is in the detailing. with the pattern on the back of the jacket being repeated in the matching tee top. Lapels, shoulder line and cuffs all match up to give a beautiful look to this low neck outfit.

Sizing is standard XS, M, L, XL, XXL for the pants and jacket with alphas for both. For the top you can either go with a clothing layer or Omega appliers for mesh bodies. I found the medium fitted well enough around the neckline and arms. Given that there’s a further 3 sizes above that, it should fit a lot of shapes. Footwear – you could either wear short boots or shoes with a bit of skin showing, the pants are versatile with a well shaped mesh.

I’m playing around a bit here – this is the box that the outfit arrived in. The pose is included and it certainly has possibilities so a bit of a bonus!

Menswear Fashion Week runs until the 19th June so why not take a wander around? The theme this year is Paris. Here’s your TAXI.

Cheers, m’dears 🙂

P.S. The animated pelican insisted on being in the picture because he reckons he’s a Beau Monstre too,  and you can get one of his mates from THC (The Home Collection) – MP

Of Dreamcatchers and Dragons – Vengeful Threads

Vengeful Threads_Zuhi Noir Shirt

“When the Dragons died out, all we had left were our dreams of them, soft remembrances of past glories. So we sent a Dreamcatcher back in time marked with the symbols of his trade and armed with the narwhal’s single horn. The dead to catch the dead, perhaps? He brought back nothing but dreams. Realistic in the folds of sleep but as insubstantial things are wont, they fell to dust as the lights of dawn awoke us. But he said… wait. So we did, and one night the first of them emerged from a dream, pouring out of our collective consciousness like black oil. She and her kin breathed a furnace on the land and awakened it. And we rose from our torpor and built the cities anew. For dreams remain so unless put into action.”
