King of the North

with 5 comments

Here’s Jon Snow braving the other side of the wall because he’s forgotten to take in sufficient supplies to bolster up the Night’s Watch. By some trick of the light (and maybe destiny in my world) his shadow falls over the land making him King of the North.

Loving the outfit?  It’s April’s Group Gift by Heth Haute Couture and features a massive fur collar and all-in-one costume.  Absolutely love it and as he’s called it “King of the North Ensemble”  I just couldn’t resist the inference. This would suit most avatar and mesh bodies because you really knock those out with an alpha. The only trick is fitting the collar correctly.

If you’re fitting on a system avatar, then use the slide bars in the Torso section to get a good fit on the neckline. Don’t forget to add both the alphas included in the outfit, one is for the body and one for the system hands. When you’re satisfied with the fit, rename and save your shape. Keep it in the outfit folder and then you won’t have to mess about again.

The April free gift from Heth Haute Couture is the “King of the North Brooch”. I removed the fur cape to better show you. It’s gold with red rubies and rather magnificent. It will show up  under the fur cape but not as clearly as you see here.

Pick up your copy of the “King of the North” Ensemble and Brooch from these outlets:

The skin I’m wearing is from 7 Deadly s{K}ins  and it’s the Men’s Group Gift. “Bo” contains:-

OMEGA face applier – Caramel, Clay, Steam, Stone, Taupe

OMEGA body applier – smooth Caramel, Steam, Taupe, Clay, Stone

I chose the Caramel shade and put it on CATWA Bento Daniel Head (my own shape) using the OMEGA relay. This is a mature adult looking skin and goes very well with a number of outfits. There’s a shadow of a beard on it which is flattering and more realistic, I think. Very nice skin anyway, and if you belong to 7 Deadly s{K}ins  group, you’ll find many other great deals as well as hunts and generous gifts. There’s an Easter Egg hunt on at the moment which is for group members only. More about that in another post.

Cheers, m’dears 🙂

Stand out in the City!

Here’s the second December release suit from Heth Haute Couture, which I promised to show you yesterday.  It’s called the “Brighton Men’s Suit” and has three colourways for the shirt – a dark green (which is the one I’m wearing) a rather nice maroon red and a more vibrant blue.

I really liked this tailored couture suit, it’s that bit different with the open necked shirt and you could wear quite long necklaces with it. There’s a single breasted open front jacket with silk shirt. This is matched up with a pair of black crepe slacks, wool socks and leather wingtip shoes. This is an elegant suit and when I put it together, I could see it would be useful well after the festive season.  The pack included 5 classic mesh sizes XS – XL. As my shape was slim, I was wearing the S size.

These suits are only 199L$ each, 399L$ for all three in a Fatpack. So for very little money, you can have an attractive and elegant suit to party with!  Here’s the other two colours from HHC’s vendor photo – red and blue.

I’m wearing another one of the Advent Calendar skins from 7 Deadly s{K}ins, today. This is a system skin called “Ragna” and the tone is called Snow, 2 versions – with and without hairbase. You also get SLINK appliers for hands and feet. The “Unicorn” shape is included and as you can see, it all turns out rather Asian which makes a nice change.  You really needed a longer face than my usual one to show this skin off to it’s best advantage which is why I used the gift shape.

There’s a different variety of skins/appliers every day until 31st.  You do need to belong to the 7 Deadly s{K}ins group but you can join free for this month!  Whether you wear system or Mesh body/face – there’s something for everyone.

Here’s a landmark to the 7 Deadly s{K}ins  gent’s department – go in the door and to the right,  you’ll find the Advent calendar tree on the wall at the back. Each day is designated by a miniature Christmas Tree, have your group on and simply click to receive the gift for that day.

Heth Haute Couture – October Gifts

with 7 comments

Another month and another excellent set of gifts from Heth Haute Couture!  Do go and visit the store to pick these up, there are additional gifts for the ladies, here I’m showcasing the gent’s gifts.

The “Aiden Men’s Ensemble” is the group gift, you have to belong the the HHC group to receive this gift but as Heth brings out a group gift every month, it’s well worth the joining fee! And don’t forget, Heth won 2016 Designer of the Year Award at the 2016 SL Spirit Awards.

Aiden is a fun casual couture ensemble featuring a crew neck jersey top with pushed up sleeves, and designer jeans. The perfect ensemble for those relaxing days at home, out shopping, or visiting friends for a vintage film festival. Includes 5 standard mesh sizes with alpha layer. I was wearing the M size.

I was thinking of the theatre when I put this outfit on, so searched around for a suitable place to take the photos and ended up at Holly Kai Park. It’s such an interesting sim, with art exhibits, places to sit down, a park to take a walk around and even a small beach. “Art at the Park” events are held here, too. I ended up in Silas Merlin’s Gallery. The bronze sculpture is called, “A Tough Story” and the picture you can see on the wall is part of a Dutch Master’s collection and is called, “Joker”, a pastel circa 1203. All these are purchasable.

Here, you can see the Aiden jeans from the reverse. Texturing is great and they really are designer jeans.

Now for the non group gift, you don’t have to belong to the HHC group to receive this gift. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship, it’s a two piece brooch where you ‘add’ both pieces for the finished result. The “Royal Star Brooch” features marquise cut, brilliant cut, and pear cut diamonds set in platinum. It’s fully animated and easily resizable (no scripts). Just to be safe there’s an additional back-up copy. Makes an amazing impression when worn with a posh suit, don’t you think!

Other items of apparel (all purchasable at the HHC mainstore):

HHC black diamond earring and watch from the Jean Paul Ensemble
HHC couture shades from the Alessio Men’s Suit

HHC Classic Full Dress Tails Outfit and Tailcoat

Reapers Requiem – Vengeful Threads

with 2 comments

It’s another Sinful Sunday down at Vengeful Threads!  Special offers on both ladies and gents outfits. For us gents, it’s the “Reapers Requiem” outfit which comprises a fabulous open fronted shirt with artwork front and back plus a pair of matching jeans. There’s two designs in both shirt and jeans – silver skull pattern and gold skull pattern. The jeans are subtly textured to fit in with the silver and gold theme.

Standard sizing – XS to XL, I was wearing the L jeans and shirt. A couple of alphas are included, to fit smaller and larger sized chests. Because the main picture is so arty (and you can blame Anubis for that, he’s a great poser) here’s the designs a bit more plainly rendered. Beautiful textures, as always, and I wasn’t on Ultra, either!

Special offer runs just for today

Adam Mesh Body

Adam Mesh Body - review 3

This is an honest appraisal of the Adam Mesh Body by designer, Ginger Chevalier.

I’ve yet to find a mesh body that enhanced my shape and was easy to use… until now. When I tried the Adam demo I was so surprised on a number of fronts. It’s true to say that I can work mesh bodies but even from the perspective of somebody completely new to them, this was not difficult to get a handle on. I’d suggest getting the demo, add the body and the alpha… add the HUD and start fiddling.

The HUD needs opening up (like those for SLINK hands and feet) so click on an arrow. You’ll find a choice of two skins – with or without body hair. I’ve included Ginger’s video from YouTube which goes through all the options on the HUD and there’s also a friendly Inworld group to join for tips and help.

The feet are compatible with SLINK flat feet so you can use all your existing shoes – this is not the same for every mesh body. One of the best features with Adam is that a set of neck tattoos are included and you can experiment with these to match your existing skins.  I was using my favourite Li Skin from *BIRTH* and it matched well with No. 9 skin on the HUD. When I added the No. 9 neck tattoo, it all blended in!  Now, I have never seen anything so damn easy to use.  I would have liked an option for  no chest hair but hair elsewhere ~ however, I expect the skin designers will offer that – hopefully. There’s 6 neck sizes which you can access via the HUD again – one of those should fit your existing shape and if not – alter in Appearance mode. Fingernails and toenails are matchable at a click on the HUD and also you can add shine to the skin with sliders.

Putting the body through some challenging poses – it held up well with minimal/no jaggies on the photography. Adam has clothes included with the body – vest, jeans,  sneakers and trunks. Do go into Appearance and play with the sliders – Adam is pretty versatile and will take a number of shapes without distortion.

Rear view, because if you’re like me, all angles are important! Adam also passes muster for most mens bitz and as long as said bitz have a colour control on them and are unrigged, you’re good to go.

Finally, Adam is OMEGA compatible which is important because it increases your choice of available skins, tattoos and clothing. Here’s the marketplace link for OMEGA.

HHC – L’Uomo Vitruviano

with 5 comments

HHC_Alexander suit_large

Borrowed from Leonardo, the L’Uomo Vitruviano or The Proportions of Man. The original was envisaged as a great picture chart of the human body that Leonardo had produced through his anatomical drawings and Vitruvian Man as a cosmografia del minor mondo (cosmography of the microcosm). He believed the workings of the human body to be an analogy for the workings of the universe. The macrocosm reflected in the microcosm.

I’ve always wanted to do something creative with that chart so I was glad to see Heth Haute Couture‘s brand new suit, “Alexander”. Didn’t get the exact shape due to constraints of the mesh – but… near enough:)  The suit is a one piece in 5 standard sizes – XS to XL, non rigged shoulder decoration, posh shiny leather shoes, and a choice of alpha, one of which includes the feet. You really couldn’t get easier fitting, so choose the suit that fits best around the neck (M for medium in my case) and away you go. If needs be, get on a pose stand and select both the shoes at the same time to move them nearer to the trousers, then you won’t get a gap. The shoulder decoration is also adjustable and resizeable via a handy HUD. Here’s “Alexander” in close up to show the beautiful patterning and shoulder decoration. This is a gorgeous special occasion suit that is very reasonably priced and unusual – you’ll stand out!
