More than a hint of the Cosy from Raindale!

with 8 comments

Raindale is a new sponsor of mine and I must say, I’m finding their décor to be right up my street! For instance, the new release for the Pose Lover & Friends Event is more than a bit cosy. It’s the “Salford Set” and contains a round couch/sofa that has poses for singles and couples, a matching coffee table and a coffee tray. The price is limited for the Event to only 150 L$, can’t be bad. Danilo thinks there’s plenty of room for his toys, too.

Salford Set – Pose Lover&Friends exclusive release – couch with poses and animations, coffee table and coffee tray – event limited price – 150L for the whole set. Here we all are trying out one of the couples poses. Danilo’s so cosy that he can’t be bothered to move and play with his bricks.

The couch has a texture change HUD for sofa and cushions, giving a lot of options for your winter décor. The textures I used matched warm woods very well. The couch is only 5 LI. Add the round coffee table and coffee tray to match. The tray gives coffees and croissants to cuddle up to the fire with.

The “Candle Lantern” is a group gift for this Event, there is a rezzable décor version and also 3 lanterns that you can hold to light your way. Here I was wandering through the woods at night – don’t ask but it has to do with hiding presents!

Zerkalo – Wheels on Fire

Zerkalo - Wheel Set - Full

“If your mem’ry serves you well
We were goin’ to meet again and wait
So I’m goin’ to unpack all my things
And sit before it gets too late
No man alive will come to you
With another tale to tell
And you know that we shall meet again
If your mem’ry serves you well
This wheel’s on fire
Rolling down the road
Best notify my next of kin
This wheel shall explode !”   # Bob Dylan

Well, hopefully not this excellent “Wheel” lounge set from Zerkalo!  You can pick this up from the March edition of The Mens Dept which runs until the end of the month. There’s a choice of three cushion colours – red, green and blue. PG and Adult versions.

Pieces are:

Sofa – LI 6 with 12 sits/12 cuddles/ 16 intimate poses in the Adult version

Chair – LI 2 with 5 sits/3 cuddles and 10 intimate poses in the Adult version

Stool – LI 2 with 5 sits/3 cuddles and 10 intimate poses in the Adult version

Table – LI 1

Tyres Decor – LI 2

Here’s a close up to show off the excellent texturing. I put this set in the garage which leads down to a lake and boat dock but it would go in a number of places, least of all the man-shed lol

Other pieces were from Zerkalo sets – “Coffee on the Porch” – an extremely useful set of furniture and decor which I never put away entirely, “California” – wall hanging, signs and decor, “Chess” – named after major chess tournament combatants – essential decor for lounges! Wood pile and crate also Zerkalo.

Dog is from a Half-Deer gacha (you can pick up similar on MP) – Shiba Inu sleepy

Here’s one of the cuddle animations which are rather romantic. Designer, Anaïs, has a gift for picking the right animations for each set of furniture. The dog was so comfortable she never stirred!

RFL Home & Garden Expo 2016 – CCDesign, [USB] and Little Llama

The RFL Home & Garden Expo 2016 will open to the general public on February 14th and runs to March 6th. It’s the largest and longest running event dedicated to Home & Garden in Second Life™ and raises funds for Relay For Life – The American Cancer Society. Read more about it on their extensive website.  As you can imagine, there’s all sorts of exhibitors from well known brands to up and coming designers, hobbyists and professional merchants. Each exhibitor is required to release two brand new 100% donation items and there’s also a wonderful 50% donation gacha section and even a special hunt!

The Expo opened yesterday and already has received a huge amount of visitors! There’s been much had at the special events, too. Today, I have items from CCDesign, [USB] and Little Llama to show you.

CCDesign or CCD is run by designer Anton and he works with 3DS Max 2015 and V-Ray programs to make his products. He produces full perm mesh for builders as well as his own furniture and decor designs.  These are very beautiful and realistic Mesh products which are a delight to photograph.

CCD - main

“Tropical Composition Vol 1, 2 and 3” are combos of palms and pots and nicely detailed. They hold their Land Impact well, even at the larger sizes. The biggest of them is only 6 LI.  CCDesign also has rugs, pillows and vases for sale. There’s 9 different rugs, 8 texturized pillows, 2 varieties of triple pillows and a texturized vase which you can have with or without the shadow. Land Impact for these pieces varies between 1 – 6. Permissions are Copy/Modify. It’s really easy to build up your own display as they all mix n match.

[USB] offers full perm sets as well as their own furniture range. Designer, McChris, also has the Dew Me Furniture brand and you’ll find both of those on Marketplace. For the Expo, there’s a wonderful set of Retro Furniture, mid century style. Two of the pieces shown here – the “Bamboo Decor” and “Retro Clock” – are the 100% Donation items.

If you collected all the pieces illustrated, it would only amount to 37 LI. These are very low Land Impact pieces, none of them are above 4 Land Impact. Permissions are Copy except for the curtains which are Copy/Modify to fit all windows and they also have a good 12 option texture changer on them.

This Retro set is right on style and I’ve done close-ups of some of the pieces as the detailing and texturing is amazing. The Sofa and Chair have PG and Adult versions, they are packed with animation for singles, friends, cuddles and Adult poses in the Adult versions. Also texture change for the back cushions – green, orange and yellow options – I had the orange option showing. The Adjust is by Helper poles that you just select and move around, then save. Nice n easy. Loved it!

Little Llama, designed by Persey Garcia, is all about Kids, Kitsch and Kawaii (cute)! There’s two 100% Donation items and a Hunt prize. “How to Train your Sofa” is a dragon themed seat made with a child in mind but if you really like it and you’re a bit bigger you can easily resize the sofa and adjust the poses whilst seated. There’s a texture changer for the main body of the sofa and for the spines. I tried a couple of combinations here.

The “Lamp of Shame” has three varieties and is one of those talking points you can use wherever you want to! I switched one of them on and it gives a good spread of moderate light.

The “Pickle Jar” is Little Llama’s Hunt prize and it gives an eerie green glow when switched on. Brilliant for boy’s rooms!
