Wild Turkey

with 13 comments

When your turkey’s hopping mad at you, you’ll know! By the way, I didn’t cook one of his friends 🙂

There’s a lot in this scene to show you, so please click on it for the huge version.  Giblets the Turkey is from JIAN’s latest pet series, and what she’s started to do lately is to include a number of static framed versions in the sets.  These are an absolute find for us bloggers, each static is scripted to change frames over a movement, usually 8 in all, you just click until you find the one you want.  So Giblets was fluffing up his tail feathers in annoyance and I put him on frame 4.  The same static versions were in the last set I got of Chipmunks.  Brilliant idea!

The Give Thanks poster is by Dahlia in celebration of  CozySL.com new subscription service. Wendz will keep us up-to-date with Home & Garden events, ideas and free gifts.  See below for SLurl, it’s a must.

I have a new Sponsor – Granola.  – and I’m showing the  Tabitha’s Beaded Curtains  above, gorgeous and versatile.   Granola. is a brand new Home and Garden shop inspired by vintage, Bohemian and rustic styles, you’re going to love them like I do.

The Mission table and chairs set is by Newchurch and so well made.  I really enjoy this style and actually have a real life set in our dining room at home.  These have cherry and oak versions, I used the oak here.  There’s a massive texture change menu for both the table runner and the chair  cushions which include special Autumn and Holiday textures for the runner.  The Fiona Buffet and Hutch is also by Newchurch, all that pottery is tintable for different looks (I used red in honour of Giblets) and the hutch has black and white wood variants.

Fancy Decor’s  Thulden Collection is just behind the Harvest feast table – the texturing on these pieces are amazing, that lamp really shines with metallic glory and the cream vases glint in any light, so well worth purchasing.

The room is in Convair’s latest Builder’s Box offering, the Holiday Cottage.   This house has a lot of great points about it such as being usefully compact, feeling just right when you walk around the building,  a beautiful front lounge window area and peaceful textures within and without.

*~*~*

Umm, how do I explain peaceful textures – it’s just that they don’t make you tired out looking at them but feel as if you could put with them for a long time and not get fed up.  The other side of the building has this fabulous chimney rising up and also a nice weathervane.

*~*~*

Here’s some pictures of the inside. The wood texture is superb and has that easy, soft look of certain woods.  All rooms are able to be separately tinted as you wish. The doors are configured by a menu accessed by click-dragging off the door. The menu appears as you release the mouse button.

*~*~*

And going upstairs…

Old Friends Feast

with 14 comments

Two old friends celebrating Dia de los Muertos with authentic food and a very posh dining set!

I set the scene in Serenity Style’s Attic skybox, part of a gacha that’s on the current PocketGacha round, this is a beautiful skybox which has a huge picture window at one end and a sunbeam effect. It takes a bit of building around that light prim but you if do it away from the prim, then gather everything up and slide it into place, you’ll have no problems. The rest of the skybox has doors to a large room and on the floor there’s a hatchway to the rest of the house – if you had one! The flying sheets of music are also from that gacha, another great piece for decorating.

The posh Abigail Dining Set is by Fancy Decor and it is currently at Collabor88. I’m a bit late with this set because of being ill – but it is well worth collecting. The texturing is second to none and I just adore those chairs with their fancy high back fretwork. The place settings are so easy to deal with, too – cutlery, plates, napkins and a pumpkin starter are all in one piece. That white coffee pot and cups set are also very nice and I’ll be using that again and again, it’s a classic.

The authentic pottery, food and picture are from the eTNIA set to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. The multi-day originally Mexican holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. Scholars trace the origins of the modern Mexican holiday to indigenous observances dating back hundreds of years and to an Aztec festival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl. The holiday has spread throughout the world, being absorbed within other deep traditions for honouring the dead.

While mum was out…

A beautiful, feminine room and that’s just what the naughty kitten likes the most! She’s trying on tiara and earrings (with difficulty) and is just about to get her paws on the make-up. Let’s hope mum gets back soon 🙂

The star of the show (apart from the kitten) is the beautiful “Crawford set” by Fancy Decor. Designer, Jake, was inspired to make the set after he’d watched a scene in the television series “Feud” which chronicles the rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford when they took part in the 1962 film, “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?”. The marbled art is original and was created by Jake in Real Life using the creative method of marbling paper.

Fancy a holiday in Stockholm?

stockholmatticadditionalshot1

Barnesworth Anubis aka [ba] has been a long time favorite builder of mine. I’ve got many of his wonderful builds in the way of skyboxes, landscaping pieces, even a garden with built in pond. So I was delighted to hear that the ‘Stockholm Attic’ skybox has been completely Meshed up and is now at December Collabor88 for a truly daft price!

This was one of the [ba] oldest skyboxes and it was fabulous even back then, but this new structure features more three dimensional detailing and even richer textures which gives more depth to an already beautiful design. The arched and round windows make this skybox rather unique, and when combined with the plaster ceilings and walls with blonde wood flooring, takes it into another class of architecture.

stockholmatticadditionalshot3

The backdrop is now simple 3D buildings instead of a flat picture, which definitely adds to the effect of depth. The new skybox has an additional couple of smaller back rooms/spaces suitable for bathrooms, kitchenettes and studies. In addition, we also get a snowy backdrop with snowflake particle effect which would be great for the holidays.

Scripted features include an easy to use central control for access, windows, door and the built in brick fireplace with white mantelpiece.

stockholmatticadditionalshot2

So what’s the damage? Skybox is 58 LI with a 20 by 24 meter footprint. The backdrop and scenery adds a further 11 LI or 22 LI with snow and increases the footprint area to approx 72 by 38 meters. The great thing about all [ba] homes is that it’s easy peasy to customize the walls and floor with tinting or using your own textures – there are copious faces to select via Edit and you can make a really unique home this way. I’ve done that before with ease on many of the [ba] landscaping pieces. Permissions are Copy/Modify so if you make a mistake, rez another copy.

stockholmatticadditionalshot4

And the price? A mere L$188 for the run of the Event, after which the skybox will be available at [ba] mainstore and on Marketplace. So you’re looking for the [ba] Stockholm Attic 2.0 at December Collabor88!

Until next time,
Cheers, m’dears!

[ba] mainstore – why not visit and have a wander around.
[ba] on Marketplace -for your convenience.
