Secrets of the Forest

with 2 comments

The trees part to reveal a magical clearing in the forest and we see that people are not the only ones who enjoy picnics as the Eurasian Lynx family have a day out 🙂

The pergola and fountain are part of a beautiful contemporary garden set from unKindness that’s out at the new edition of FaMESHed. It’s a versatile set as I’ve used some of the brown coloured pieces in a forest setting, there are also pieces in black and white plus pergolas with hedge backing instead of the fence version that you see here.

The Landscaping is a medley of pieces formed into a forest setting and it’s by Felix, please do go and visit his sim for inspiration and sheer beauty. You’ll be as amazed as I was at the low Land Impact of his products. That stunning tree is by Little Branch and there’s versions of the flowers – pink, pink 2 and white. The wild orchids all come from the genus Bauhinia and they have large thick leaves with striking fragrant flowers. They bloom from early November through to the end of March. They are now cultivated in many areas but are generally far eastern exotic trees. The following picture shows the white blossom option.

The Eurasian lynx are medium sized wild cats native to Siberia, Central, Eastern and Southern Asia, and parts of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. They were on the endangered list at one time but selective breeding and the re-introduction of small populations into forested areas have made their numbers more stable nowadays. They have large webbed and furred paws which act like snowshoes and their coats thicken during the harsh winters. In the summer they have a short, reddish or brown coat as shown here. They’ve been observed to mew, hiss, growl and purr like domestic cats, they will ‘chatter’ at prey that is just out of reach. Eurasian Lynx are secretive and because their vocalisations are very quiet and seldom heard, their presence in an area may go unnoticed for years, apart from their tracks in the snow. Here’ s a cub on unKindness’s excellent cuddle picnic blanket and the wicker basket tulip/wine piece is included.
