Natural Industrial Style

OK, so I’ve invented a new décor style – it’s called Natural Industrial! Perfect for the city with industrial style furniture that’s combined with inspiration from Nature, herself. I’m being a bit daft but I wanted to show you the skybox from Galland Homes that is currently at The Chapter Four. It’s called the Mount Washington. Then there’s been some amazing Industrial style furniture recently, so that is part of the scene, both from Newchurch and Fancy Decor. Then there’s that magnificent wall fountain by unKindness.

I wonder if you would really get away with such an open water feature in a real life flat. Let alone a little French Bulldog leaping in and out of it, plus slurping the water occasionally, it’d be very hygenic *laughs* But fortunately, in Second Life® none of those things matters!

Now let me take you around the skybox.  You land in a hall and to your left is an open plan room with cosy fireplace which you can turn on and off from the panel by the side of it. The walls are beautiful plain plasterwork right now but you can tint them because the skybox is completely modify, and what’s more there’s a notecard to explain how to do it. I really like the ceilings in this skybox, the rooms have a central portion that is cut out and you almost feel that there could be a skylight window there, but even if there isn’t it does give that extra height.  The floors are a even toned warm wood parquet design.

So, if you now look straight ahead, that’ll lead you into a room with a view, literally.  If you click on the window frame you get a choice of real city skylines, I chose London here and you can just see The Gherkin, that iconic shaped tower that we all know and love.  I’m standing in the unfurnished version above.  You have options to use the house for assistance in inputting Second Life® compatible audio streams and/or Quicktime compatible video streams. The house will also store a list of your favourite streams if you wish.  There’s also a Teleport feature which allows you save a series of your favourite SLurl’s into the house’s memory.

In the room with a view, another door on the left leads to a more private room which could be a bedroom and bathroom combination.  The flooring is different in this enclosed room.  The Mount Washington Skybox has a Land Impact of only 24, and don’t forget you can tint those walls. I think it’s a very pleasant and versatile home.
