Home & Garden Expo 2017 – Breedables

*~*~*

Well, I promised you cuteness today and lots of it!

For this post, I’m covering the Breedables on Hope 4. Breedables are Pets that are interactive, loveable (usually!) and also have babies. There’s generally a huge and lucrative market for sellers of baby boxes – whatever Breedable they may be – as the folks who breed them uncover new traits and special editions. That’s what makes the Breedables such fun. Not only do you get a delightful pet or two but you can also do things with them. Some of the Breedables can be ridden and raced – such as the horses. Most Breedables require food and other needs such as vitamins and medicine occasionally, these have to be purchased and the costs taken into consideration if you decide to go in for breeding. Please check your land rules to see if Breedables are allowed, sometimes they are not due to the scripting. However, there’s a big “awwws!” factor to them all and also more than a little bit of addiction. Look out for Groups associated with various Breedables, they are a big help when you’re first starting off and you’ll make lots of friends, too.

Hope 4 is sponsored by the Wonderful World of Meeroos. These adorable little chaps have been going for quite a while in Second Life® and they were amongst the first of the Breedables. They have a mythology, many breed lines and quite a lot of associated décor, for instance Meeroo homes (called Stumps because they were originally tree stumps). Meeroo donation items include a number of ribbons in different colours which will house various numbers of Meeroos. That means the little chaps won’t run off but will be contained within a preset radius on your land. Meeroos have really gone all out with the ribbons and if you visit their stand on Hope 4 you’ll see that each colour of ribbon raises awareness of different types of cancer. Other donation items are the revolving World Statue and the Meeroos Bookshelf.

oYo Breedables have all sorts of cute animals that are both interactive and have babies. I spoke to Furget of oYo Breedables, I was lucky enough to catch her this morning when I went over to Hope 4 to take more photos. oYo’s donation items are the Fuzzies. They are cute little gremlin like creatures who can talk and do things. They have all sorts of toys that they will play with, for example there’s an interactive piano. They will jump around and some will even sit on your shoulder. The special edition mini elephants can be found as the gacha item. You’ll find that oYo also have Breedables like elephants, dogs, wildcats, pigs and dodos – yes, dodos! Their newest venture are the horses which are still in the Beta stage but will be released very soon. The Clydesdale and Shetland are the newest ones and the Arabians have been recently updated in all their splendour. These are beautifully realistic horses and amongst the nicest SL horses I’ve seen. They will also race and you can train them to go faster – great fun! Here are some of the baby boxes you’ll get when you buy those starter packs.

Stray Cats Breedable specialise in the cutest of kitties and have various breeds including Siamese, Bengals and Tabbies as well as some very exotic looking furs. You’ll find a gacha of these which will randomly give you a little boy or girl kitten which you can then birth and coo over. Check out the cats that are rezzed around the Stray Cats stand and see if you can resist!
