Ancient Italian Terrace seen at Spoonful of Sugar Festival!

with 10 comments

More from the Spoonful of Sugar Festival, which is being held to raise funds for Doctors without Borders/Medicines Sans Frontieres. It’s open now and running until Sunday, September 25th. 100% of the proceeds of at least one item in each store is donated directly to the charity plus a participation donation by each designer. Many designers are donating a lot more.

Today, I’m showcasing the  “TerraceRAVELLO” by mAi sweetHome. This gorgeous piece of landscaping is billed as an ancient Italian terrace with iron pergola and climbing bougainvillea. mAi sweetHome specialise in landscaping pieces of Italian inspiration and having lived in Italy myself I was pleasantly surprised to see these quality items for our virtual world.

The entire land impact for the terrace, including the rock cliff it stands on, is only 34 and the footprint is 47m deep and 22m in width. Permissions are Copy/Modify, the flowers are Copy. Placed against the side of a hill or plateau it will look magnificent. It arrives in a rez box which is very easy to operate, even for me! One of the options of the rez box is that of terraforming. When it’s on, moving the build into the ground will roughly terraform (the ground will sink) as you move the build into place. Such a help. After that you need only fine tune the land to fit. When you remove the terrace, it won’t re-terraform the land so you’ll need to settle that back again.

Here’s the Terrace Ravello in various windlight settings. The shadows fall so beautifully on the architecture.

Close ups of the climbing bougainvillea and the central area as if you’d walked onto it and were viewing the landscape in the distance.

You’ll find mAi sweetHome on the Spoonful of Sugar Festival Home & Garden sim. Their mainstore has a demo viewing platform so why not visit and check out all their other landscaping pieces.

  1. That’s stunning. I’ve been mulling it over for an event… Do you think you could slot two together to make a circular area?

    • Well, it is flat on one side where it would fit into a piece of hillside, but let me try that out and I’ll let you know, Meri. I think you could probably sink the rock platforms down into the ground then and have just a small portion of those sections showing.
