I’m honoured to be a blogger for this great fund raiser event that will run from Friday, 12 am SLT, September 9 and stay open until Sunday, September 25. It’s the Spoonful of Sugar Festival –  5 sims with over 180 stores in fashion, home and garden, and breedables. It’s huge and the charities supported are Doctors without Borders and Medicins Sans Frontieres. Please have a look through the website for more info. There’s also a Flickr and a Facebook page.

This was going to be an introduction post but you know me, I can’t resist opening some of the 100% donation items in the Home & Garden offerings so here goes!

Who doesn’t like dragons? Hobbits you cry!  Well yes, but this dragon is sculpture only and he’s by Dragon Magick Wares. The “Happy Dragon” has a LI of 12 but you can resize him via the script. He’s Copy, otherwise. Look at that cheeky expression, just because I’ve rezzed him by the lake and he thinks he’s on guard.

This is a wonderful gazebo by Dragon Magick Wares again, it’s called the “Weathered Gazebo” and it has a LI of 8 with Permissions of Copy/Modify. Very enchanting with the little hanging lights which have a good spread of light without burning your eyes.

The “Mary Rose Cottage” by Khaleesi’s Shinn-Anigans or K~S for short, is just gorgeous and such fun. I can imagine this on many a roleplay sim or even at the bottom of the garden! It’s small but perfectly formed at 16 by 13 metres and only 25 LI, can’t be bad. Copy/Modify with door access you can upgrade if you want.

Also by K~” is the “Skarthi Viking Hut” suitable for all Viking warriors to take a rest in once they’ve done all their pillaging. Inside, there’s a fireplace and smoke comes out the roof chimney. Click the logs to start a nice blazing fire (I bet they didn’t have that mod con back in the old days). Again, this des res is only 25 LI and Permissions are Copy/Modify.

*Elite Equestrian* are on the Breedables sim and they have three exclusive items out that are just for the SOS Festival.

Firstly there’s “Cherry’s Racing Barn”, a really beautifully rendered barn to keep horses in. The barn will be suitable for avatar horses and ABC ponies. You can’t go wrong with this super barn, it has 4 horse stalls, tack area and built in paddock. Photos show both inside and out. It is a mere 26 LI for all that detail, footprint is 25 by 14 metres with Permissions of Copy/Modify so you can retexture if you want but as rezzed, the textures are premier. You get a rezzer for easy placement and give it time to work as it will build and position your barn. The little box in front of the barn is the rezzer.

Then there’s the “Cherry Ranch House”. This is a long house with a 64 by 48 metre footprint but it is magnificent and you also get 4 horse stalls included. 80 LI original Mesh same as the barn, there are spacious living quarters with built in sunlight. It really does feel good to stand inside this ranch house as you’re bathed in sunlight from the windows whilst the wonderfully textured wood is very pleasing to the eye. I honestly could not believe that it was only 80 LI but there you are! There’s a large main room, office and bedroom and you just walk into the horse stall area through one of the doors. Perfecto 🙂

I got around two thirds of the house in this picture, a bit further to the right is the horse stall area.

Last but not least, *Elite Equestrian* have made us a miniature golden horse avatar and it is of extreme cuteness *smiles*. I spent all afternoon as a mini  horse traipsing around the barn and horse stall, neighing and posing. Much the same as real life then!! We get an instruction book but it’s not too difficult. You simply right click on the folder, choose Replace Current Outfit, and everything loads straight up including the gesture HUD and a complete AO with walk, trot, canter, gallop and crouch-park and crouch walk Spanish Walk. Here’s a few pictures of me posing and it’ll be a dollar to talk to me soon 🙂

  2. It looks so great. Love that dragon. About your new ava, the mane thing is that you’re happy – neigh, delighted with it. I might trot off and get one myself.

    It’s ok, I’ve stopped now.

    • Thank you, Meri 🙂 Well I hope you’re going to spend a pony on this Festival then and you’re not just horsing around!

  3. Congrats Moz! I’m blogging this event too, for the home and garden, perhaps some fashion here and there. I blogged my first item under my other blog, as I used the Italian terrace in a photo.. that dragon is fabulous! I can’t wait to blog it. 🙂

    • Thankee, Alexa! Oh, great – you’re blogging, too. I’m still trying to get the Italian terrace from their manager – she’s ignoring me *laughs*
