RFL Home & Garden Expo 2016 – [RH] Design Home & Schultz Bros.

with 4 comments

The RFL Home & Garden Expo 2016 will open to the general public on February 14th and runs to March 6th. It’s the largest and longest running event dedicated to Home & Garden in Second Life™ and raises funds for Relay For Life – The American Cancer Society. Read more about it on their extensive website.  As you can imagine, there’s all sorts of exhibitors from well known brands to up and coming designers, hobbyists and professional merchants. Each exhibitor is required to release two brand new 100% donation items and there’s also a wonderful 50% donation gacha section and even a special hunt!

Today, I’ve got beautiful items from [RH] Design Home and Schultz Bros. to show to you.

[RH] Design Home specialises in Japanese buildings and the furniture to fill them with. Their 100% donation items are GOJYUNOTOU (Japanese Temple tower) and BIWA (Japanese Lute).  The Temple tower really is an amazing structure that would add atmosphere to wherever you choose to rez it.  It’s a five storey pagoda based on the sort of  historic buildings which you’d often see in Buddhist temple and Shinto Shrines in Japan.

The Temple tower is made up of original prims and Mesh and is 670 Land Impact. It’s footprint is 28 m by 22 m and is 38 m in height. Permissions are Copy/Modify.

BIWA is a traditional Japanese lute used in “Gagaku”, a type of Japanese classical music and dance that has been performed at the Imperial Court in Kyoto for several centuries.  There’s a couple of versions of the lute included, one that is a decorative item at 2 LI and an animated one which you can wear at 9 LI. Both have Permissions of Copy/Modify and are 100% original Mesh.

Here’s some of the furniture for sale, it’s really beautiful and was generously included in our Blogger’s Box. I set it against a modern home so you can see the versatility.

Schultz Bros. have two 100% donation items, black and white Art Deco style fireplaces at a wonderful 3 Land Impact each!  These are original Mesh, made especially for the Expo and premièring here.

The fire may be switched on and off by clicking on the fire basket/grate. There’s a special flickering flame effect which in Advanced Lighting Mode reflects on the front stand piece of the fireplace. It’s called ‘ultra lighting’ and gives a very pleasing glow even in midday light.

Schultz Bros. also have a gorgeous hunt gift and it’s the Rusty Vintage Tricycle. Only 2 LI, this normally retails for L$129 but you can get it in the hunt for only L$10! Makes a great display piece.
